Why not escape from the hustle and bustle of life to find peace and tranquillity in our Andalucian country hideaway? This rustic villa, surrounded by olive and chestnut trees, on a hillside just outside Casares, is a perfect place to relax in the sunshine by the pool, admire the views and get away from it all!
Las Golondrinas will accommodate up to 6 people, but special pricing makes it attractive for couples too.
Set in its own grounds in the picturesque hills of La Celima, this charming rustic villa offers a perfect escape from the world; the only sounds to break the silence are the songs of the birds and the tinkling of sheep and goat bells. Views of the mountain are wonderful and on clear days the Rock of Gibraltar and the North African coastline are clearly visible.
An ideal retreat, Las Golondrinas is also conveniently located for other holiday attractions. It’s only 10 minutes drive to the beach and there many excellent restaurants and ventas in the area (wayside restaurants serving traditional Spanish food). A dozen or so championship golf courses are nearby - with the exclusive Finca Cortesin only 10 minutes away, and the stunning white beaches of the Costa de Luz are just over an hours drive for people who want to try their hand at water sports.
Las Golondrinas is also a good base to explore historic Andalucia. The lovely white village of Casares is just up the road, Gaucin a little further, and Ronda, Granada and Seville are all within striking distance. Gibraltar too is easily accessible.
If you do decide to take a break from the peace and quiet and go in search of some typical holiday hustle and bustle, then this isn’t too difficult to find either. The Spanish holiday resort of Estepona with long golden beaches is 15 minutes away by car and the bright lights of Marbella and Puerto Banus are just three quarters of an hours drive east.
Las Golondrinas is approximately 1¼ hours drive from Malaga or ¾ hour from Gibraltar.
The villa comprises living room, dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. As you enter you are surrounded by the rustic charm of the villa with the wood beamed ceilings, traditional tiled floors and Spanish antiques. The fully equipped kitchen leads to the L shape dining room with wood burner, balcony and stunning views over the valley. Moving through to the living room you are immediately struck by the cosiness and charm of the room with its large open log fireplace and again stunning views of the surrounding countryside. There is also a cloakroom style bathroom with WC and wash hand basin on this level.
The three bedrooms are located downstairs – the house being built into the hillside. The large master bedroom has an en suite bathroom (shower only); the second large double bedroom and third bedroom with two single beds share the family bathroom (also shower only). All the bedrooms have direct access to the pool area via the balcony at the back of the house.
The stunning 10m x 5m pool is surrounded by a large terrace area with a rustic style pergola for cover when needed and this is a perfect place to relax and watch the sunset over the mountain. There is a barbecue area and small summer kitchen next to the pool which is ideal for al fresco dining.
The villa offers all the modern comforts you need whilst retaining the rustic Spanish charm and is a perfect ‘get away from it all holiday’.
A car is essential as we are 1½ km up a track winding round the hillside – but to arrive here is to find the idyllic hideaway you yearned for!!
